In
this era, we can easily search for any information that we want to know from
all over the world through internet. But there will be a lot of consequences that
we must bear of any information that we have got. One of the information that
can be accessed via internet is cultural diversity from around the world. Every
country has the characteristics, such as culture, language, music, culinary,
and others. Now many foreign culture has entered Indonesia and cause all sorts
of influences, both positive and negative. But positive or negative influences
are depends on each person who received it. Not every person is able to sort out
the influences which are good for themselves and which are not good. There are
people who are able to sort out and just take the positive side of the
informations that they get or otherwise, they will also take the negative side,
it can be due to intentional or unintentional, because they do not know or do
not even realize it. Actually if we are smart in choosing all the information
that we get properly, there will be a lot of advantages that we can get from
liking the other countries, for example we can know other cultures besides our
country’s cultures, languages, foods, and make new friends from that country.
But if we are not smart at sorting out, then there will be a lot of disadvantages,
for example like too loving that country until they forget their identity or
even until talk bad things about their country. So ironic.
To
be honest, I am the one of many people who loves cultural diversity. I am very
happy to know and learn foreign cultures. Ginseng country or that we are
familiar with South Korea is one of country that I love. It is no wonder why I
love this country, because many of Indonesian people also liked this country.
There are many things that make South Korea much preferred by people, like the
music that is going global that often called K-Pop or Korean Pop, Korean movies
or Korean drama, foods, cultures, fashions, and also beautiful places that
recommended to be visited. Such things like that what makes me interested. But by
loving South Korea does not mean I forget my identity as an Indonesian people. Indonesia
also has a lot of interesting things that make me love and proud. Indonesia and
South Korea have each characteristic that makes each country looks beautiful
and unique. And until now, there are a lot of benefits I get from liking South
Korea. I am who love learning foreign languages, learn Korean language called
hangul, because I think the language of this country is unique because it does
not use the usual alphabet as English or Indonesian language, and by learning
hangul, I got new friends. Beside that, I also get to know their cultures. My friends
also often give me the latest informations from their country. They are glad
because I love their country and gladly they give me informations and also
helped me to get know more about their country. Not only that, I also often
been invited to visit their country and they said they would take me to get
around. Besides fun, is not it quite profitable? From liking their country also
make my friends want to know my country as well, even many of them loved
Indonesia as much as I do love their country. Of course I’m happy. There will
be more people who know Indonesia, because the fact is there are many
foreigners who do not know Indonesia. I have talked with some strangers through
social media, some of them are very familiar with Bali, but they do not know
that Bali is located in Indonesia. There are also those who say that Bali is
the nation’s capital city of Indonesia, not Jakarta. And the worse is they do
not know that there is a country named Indonesia. So pathetic.
By
liking and learning cultures from the other countries, I hope that Indonesia
can be known throughout the world. I gladly helped in introducing Indonesia to
everyone. Start through my friends, because usually they will tell their
friends, and so on. I hope that it can be very useful. Besides we know many
cultures, we also got new friends and new knowledges. And the most important
thing is I become more loving my country, Indonesia. If foreigners loves our
country, why we are as Indonesian people dismiss our beautiful country and more
loving other countries?
